The Bottom Line:
Avoid at all costs!
If I can save one person from wasting $50 on this player, then this review has served it's purpose. The only good thing I can say about this player is that the anti-skip mechanism is amazing. I put it through some pretty brutal tests and no matter what, I couldn't get it to skip. Panasonic did well in this dept.
As for the sound quality, it's pretty poor. The equalizer has 3 settings and not one of them was better than my 10 year old Sony Discman. If you're a true audiophile, then you'll be sorely disappointed in the SL SX392C.
Also, this model has an annoying feature of starting up a CD wherever it darn well pleases. NO matter what I do, I can't get a CD to start on the first track. It just seems to start up a CD somewhere in the middle - very annoying, to say the least. There are definitely better and less expensive portable CD players out there.
