Pros Plays mp3?s, easy to use, long battery life, compact design.
Cons Limited amount of memory, bigger than most mp3 players, doesn?t play Burned DVD?s.
Recommended it? Yes

When I asked to borrow this from my brother I never intended to review it. After all I have about 50 products in my review folder that need to be tended to. But after using this cd/mp3 player I had to post my take on it.
This is just a simple cd player that can play MP3's. You can also think... Read full review »

Finally, a keeper

Pros Low battery drain, good sound quality, good MP3 support
Cons Skip protection needs some work
Recommended it? Yes

The Panasonic SL-SX420 is the fifth or sixth portable CD player I've bought myself for use at work in the past four years. After a string of disappointments, I was starting to think of portable CD players in general as commoditized and disposable. Fortunately, the Panasonic SL-SX420 has proven me... Read full review »

Pros It plays MP3s! Shake-and-bake stability, low price!
Cons Not loud enough to damage your hearing (that's a con?)
Recommended it? Yes

My wife purchased a Panasonic SL-SX420 Personal CD Player this summer at Target before road-tripping from Tucson to Colorado Springs and back. We rigged it up to some portable speakers in our van, powered it off two AA batteries, and enjoyed both "store-bought" CDs and our favorite songs in .mp3... Read full review »

Great Mp3-Cd Player for Less $$$ but there is better

Pros Price, Ease of use, Sound modes
Cons Skips, No Display but time, Cheap headphones, Load times
Recommended it? Yes

The Panasonic SL-SX420 is an 'ok' Mp3 Cd-Player. It was actually my first Cd-Player which I used for at least 6 months so far and I am still using it, for cds anyway. I recommend switching to a low-cost Mp3 Player as an alterative.

Price

For ~$50 you can't find a cheaper mp3 cd... Read full review »

Pros Excellent battery life, decent sound, very lightweight, doesn't skip
Cons cheap headphones, durability is just a little questionable
Recommended it? Yes

I've had this player now for about a month, and I can't really complain. I bought it to replace my RioVolt SP-250 model. The "hold" button on the RioVolt broke, and now the "hold" feature has to be triggered with a screwdriver from the inside of the unit. The RioVolt broke just three months after... Read full review »

Pros Remote Control, Hold feature to save battery, and prevent accidentally stopping playback,...
Cons no ID3 tags, no radio or adapter, takes few seconds to read mp3 CDs.
Recommended it? Yes

I just bought this item today at Circuit City, and I'm very glad I did. The price is great, and it has a remote which is very useful and convinent. The package also includes headphones with a short cord, so plugging them into the remote doesn't mean that you will have wires dragging on the floor. I... Read full review »

Either I've had some MAJOR bad luck, or this is total crap.

Pros Inline remote, Folder navigation, decent sound, very pretty
Cons long start up time, no fast forward for Mp3s, STOPS WORKING FOR NO REASON!
Recommended it? No

I really liked the sleek design of this CD player and the inline remote, the two biggest factors in my decision to purchase it. I figured that because it was name brand it would be durable and of good quality. Man oh man, was I wrong. Two weeks after buying it, I dropped it from a height of about... Read full review »

Pros Cool looking, good sound, great price, no skipping, lots of features.
Cons On playing MP3 some unwarranted noise between tracks, not so long battary life.
Recommended it? Yes

I bought this thing at Circuit city two weeks ago. It looks
nice, and has a very nice sound. I bought also Koss earphones, not relying on supplied cheep earphones (and indeed, this was a justified purchase). I find the sound great. It also plays MP3 files of all sorts, which I was
burning... Read full review »

Pros Plays MP3 files (even VBR), battery life, no skipping, price
Cons No LCD screen.
Recommended it? Yes

This is the best portable CD player I have owned, bar none. I usually have some pretty bad luck with portables. Over the last four years I owned four different models (from Sony, TDK and Panasonic), and they all either broke or became obsolete quick. I have to say the SL-SX420 blows them all away... Good entry-level MP3-CD player

Pros Cheap price Reliability Nice no-skip features Decent battery life
Cons Can't read tagging Loud noises heard random play Some songs come back for more
Recommended it? Yes

I bought this CD player a few weeks ago to replace my old CD player (it's another Panasonic). It couldn't handle the abuse of being in my bookbag, so it only lasted about 4-5 months since I bought the last one; it was rather disappointing. Anyway, this Panasonic CD player is nice, with decent... Read full review »
