The Bottom Line:
Great 1080p plasma TV for the price. Has all the features I need, and none that I don't. Fantastic picture.
I've had this TV for about 1 month, and it is a fantastic TV overall. Great value, outstanding picture. Purchased online from Vanns.com and delivered quickly.
Picture is outstanding. Great color with minimal adjustment. Crisp images without jaggies. Sports and fast action movies look great. Black levels are outstanding, best I've seen on any plasma, including the Kuro, and better than my previous rear projection CRT TV. Setup was a snap.
Antireflective coating is as good as any plasma/lcd I've seen. I've got a huge window behind my viewing area, and although there is some reflection, it looks fine during the day. My prior rear projection TV was like a mirror compared to this.
Inputs are good. Wish it had one more HDMI input for future expansion, but not a huge deal.
I like the menus and find them easy to navigate, and easy to adjust.
Vieracast system lets you view some online/web content including streaming Amazon.com video rentals. They only have a few widgets now, so limited utility, but as they add more widgets, I suspect this will become more useful. I like being able to quickly pull up weather, but would like to be able to "drill down" for more detail (ie view closeup radar and satellite images)
As other reviewers have noted, the color in the "THX" picture mode is great. However, the light output in THX is too low for my viewing area and can't be increased. I didn't find this to be a big issue, because I was able to achieve similar color with better light output using the custom picture settings. I think the THX picture might work in a perfectly dark viewing area... but if you have any back lighting at all, you will probably want to use the custom settings.
Builtin speakers point down and are a bit small. Not a big issue for me since I listen to most everything on my surround sound system.
