The Bottom Line:
Buy this TV! Panasonic makes a quality product, with outstanding picture and sound, at an affordable price.
This plasma flat-screen TV has worked flawlessly for the 8 months I have owned it.
Even though I am a small guy, it wasn't difficult to get it out of the box and position it on my entertainment stand. It has enough weight to keep from tipping over, but not so heavy that I could not handle it. You may want to anchor it with guy wires. It is also easily mounted on a sturdy wall (make sure you have a strong enough wall to handle 80+ pounds!).
The picture quality is outstanding. It is very easy to use, with lots of input and output options. The supplied remote works great (although I programmed it in to a universal remote to control all my AV equipment with one remote). I have it connected to DirecTV and an upconvert DVD player--great picture and sound. Even though I have a 5.1 surround sound system, I often use the sound from the TV for most causal viewing to save energy.
The digital tuner included provides a great picture from an antenna as well as cable or satellite. I live over 50 miles from the local stations, but get great HD pictures with a proper roof-mounted antenna. For what it's worth, it also comes with an analog receiver (which won't be useful after February 2009) which works great with current signals.
I have been very impressed with this Panasonic TV and heartily recommend it.
