The Bottom Line:
I definitely recommend buying this unit. If you are looking for a reliable TV with incredible colors, contrasts, black level and sound quality, you can't go wrong with this set.
I bought this unit in Dec 2008 and I must say that I've been very pleased with it. It has worked flawlessly since more than 2 yearsIt does provide an extremly good image and sound quality, although it does not support native 1080p. (this is a lesser issue since I have no blu-ray, and cable co does not provide 1080p).
The levels of black are impressively dark, and this was to me one of the most important requirements in buying an HDTV.
Input ports are adequate, although today's new TV sets tend to offer more HDMI inputs.
The SD card slot can also become interesting to view pictures (from a digital camera).
The price is also a great incentive, it was relatively cheap 2 years ago, but now it's almost a giveaway.
The only real downsides I can think of are:
1- The glare due to the reflection of the light on the main glass. It can become pretty annoying if you are watching TV during daytime, in a sunny room.
2- The power supply unit generate a fair amount of heat, so if you are living in a small, unclimatised appartement, it might become an issue during summer time.
Baseline: Awesome picture and sound, reliable
2 years later, I only wish it was larger :)
