The Bottom Line:
The first Plasma TV I've owned and I couldn't be happier. For a first time Plasma TV buyer, looking for a mid-range price, you won't be disappointed.
I've had this television for over six months now and could not be happier. My husband and I made our purchase at Sears and were originally planning on getting a Sony since we were so happy with our old Sony Wega. As we looked at all the display plasma TV's showing the same DVD, it was obvious that the Panasonic by far had the best picture quality. The Sony's just weren't as crisp and vivid. We currently don't have HD service, just old standard cable, but I've seen High Def broadcasting on other TV's and this TV with standard cable looks equally as clear. I can't imagine how great this would look with HD service.
I read the last review on this tv, where the member mentioned the nice packaging. I also appreciated the handles and ease of unpackaging with the TV.
The menu system is also very user friendly. Some of my past TV's were a lot more complicated.
One really cool feature I didn't notice until after we purchase this TV is the SD card reader. I took my SD card from my digital camera and plugged it in just to see if I could view my images, and sure enough, I could see them all at the full screen resolution. It was so easy to navigate through them with the remote. I was very impressed with this feature, and as a graphic designer and photographer, I can easily view my work on a large screen before loading them on to my computer.
The last thing I'd like to mention about this TV is the excellent sound quality. We purchased a Sony surround sound system and use it in addition to the standard TV sound. The sound is crystal clear, and it even sounds great without the surround sound on.
There are so many wonderful features on this TV. The following website has a good breakdown: http://www.abtelectronics.com/product/22466.html.
