Nice Picture, but...
Pros
Outstanding Picture, native 720p output
Cons
SLOW, weak remote control sensor, poor over-the-air reception
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
If you have a Panasonic HDTV monitor and want a receiver that will output 720p now - go for it... otherwise, wait for improvements first
This receiver produces an outstanding picture in all modes (it supports 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i outputs as well as a "hybrid" mode for monitors that do not support 720p natively).
But...
The onscreen guide is extraordinarily slow - I'm surprised the product ever made it to market with this type of performance
The remote control sensor is very weak - you must carefully point directly at the receiver and hope you are lucky - manual channel entry isn't even worth attempting! (you'd be surprised how annoying this can get)
Over the air reception of both digital and analog signals is weaker than most comparable models - if you live in a "fringe" area, you may be disappointed with this receiver.
This receiver also only allows one "favorite channels" list - something else to consider if that is an important feature to you.
