The Bottom Line:
I would wait until the next version of the matrix (perhaps the matrix pro?)
When I purchased the Pantech Matrix I had big expectations. I will admit, my expectations were not met. The concept of a dual sliding phone is brilliant, as well as fun. The problem I have had has not been with the design, but more the software. It seems that Pantech has spent more time worrying about the appearance of their phone rather than the practicality. I have had it "freeze" a few times, starting a few days after I got it. The buttons will be lighting up, and any buttons you push will work, but the screen turns off so you cant see what you are doing. In addition, when it is like this, the power button doesn't seem to work, and the only way to fix it is to take the battery out. The camera is alright at best. When you try to enlarge photos, they come out very grainy because it is pretty low megapixel. Also, when trying to view photos, they do not take up the whole screen which has proved very frustrating. The phone can play mp3's which is a good feature, but in order to use headphones to listen, you must have an adapter which plugs into the same spot that you plug the phone charger. This adapter does not come with the phone, and I have yet to find the place to purchase it. The battery dies very quickly. I can charge the phone one night, not use it all day, and by that night, the battery is down to 2 out of 3 bars. If the software and battery were improved, this would be an awesome phone.
