The Bottom Line:
Pick this up, for the right price, and you'll be very pleased.
Got this phone free when signing up for new service with AT&T, so the price tag immediately started my opinion of the product off right. Phone includes digital camera (what phone doesn't these days) but also include video, which was a very important feature for me as the parent of a soon-to-be one year old. For me, a phone is as much about multimedia capabilities as it is actual talking, and this phone delivers everything I'm looking for.
Pictures are very sharp, I've had several hundred developed and the resolution actually holds up pretty well up to a 5x7 and in some cases an 8x10. And the video clarity is impressive as well. Default video settings hold 35 seconds of video, but you can adjust it to capture more. Wouldn't mind a bit of improvement in the area of sound quality for videos, but it's by no means terrible.
Additionally, the memory is pretty substantial as phones go, meaning I can keep a lot of pics and videos on hand for a while before transitioning them to my PC.
I also use the phone more for texting than actual calls, and while a QWERTY keyboard would be great, I don't have any trouble firing off texts with this. When I am making calls, the sound clarity is excellent. And the product is durable too - I've dropped it in parking lots to no negative effects.
My only hesitance in recommending this is the price tag. I see it listed for as much as $199 here, and knowing I could get a BlackBerry for that price tag, I'd lean towards the Blackberry. But if you're fortunate enough to find a special offer on this as I did, jump on it.
