Great Hunting/Birding Binocular

Recommended it? Yes
I have had the opportunity to review several different binoculars. I spent over a month looking through Nikon, Swarovski, Zeiss, Steiner, Leupold, Pentax, Bushnell, Celestron etc. You name it; I tried it. During my purchase, I was trying to get the BEST binocular for the money. I also wanted something that offered good magnification as well as something that would perform in low light. My budget was $500.00, which seemed a reasonable amount to get a great binocular. I primarily hunt so I also wanted something waterproof and fog-proof.

In low light, the Pentax performs well. It is very well balanced, which helps add to its clarity. Even at 10X, I find it very easy to keep the binocular stable and balanced.

The Pentax has the best eyecups I have used. They adjust to 4 different positions and offer great eye relief. The lens caps also work well.

Overall, the Pentax is an excellent buy. For the money, it's hard to justify spending at least another $500.00 for something that definitely will not perform twice as well. This binocular will perform at 95% (probably more) of what is considered the best binoculars.
