Pentax IQZoom 928M QD 35mm Film Camera

This camera is perfect for someone who wants (some of) the versatility of an SLR but is just starting out, wants something a bit smaller and easier, or needs a good backup/travel camera. The ability to override the camera's manual exposure setting (a little bit anyway) lets you get the picture you want almost every time. Panoramic mode is always fun, and you can get really creative with the "bulb" feature (the shutter stays open as long as you hold down the shutter release button).

The wide 28mm lens allows for great groups shots (no more "squeeze together everybody")and landscapes. This is a tough to find feature that many photographers say is essential; most point-and-shoot camera lenses start at 35-38mm and zoom out from there.

My only complaint is the controls for the exposure compensation. You have to hold down one button while moving the zoom control to get the setting you want. Since this setting remains until you set it back to 0, you must always be aware of the exposure. Overall, this point-and-shoot is unique in that it gives you many options others don't. Definitely check this one out.
