Great Versatile Screen if you have limited space, at bargain price

Pros Price, Built in HD Tuner, Divix player, Nice all in one unit.
Cons Two tone colour of base & monitor. Unknown reliability esp DVD part.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you get it cheap buy it. If you need an all in one. Great TV for kitchens or dorms or computer monitor
Got this unit as a clearence at Costco. They were clearing them and it was a hunt to try to get one. Paid $129 down from $250. For that price you can't even get a computer monitor.

I debated what i was going to use it for and where to set it up given i already have 7 Tv (2 of them LCDs) and 8 DVD machines already and 3 computers. Computer or TV monitor?

I ended up using it to replace one of my old CRT Tube Computer monitor. Saves lots of space on the desk. Not as much as a reg monitor as the DVD base takes up a bit more space given the depth (10.8 inch base).

I couldn't believe the features on this. A Computer monitor, HDTV with a built in tuner, and DVD Divix player. What more can you ask for.

Of course it isn't the state of the art nor the best quailtiy but for the price i paid it was amazing. Prob would say the same if it cost $250 or $300.

As a Computer Monitor. Good size compared to the 17" CRT it replaced. Wider screen allows you to read easier and have 2 windows without squinting at one. The resolution is fine and the contrast ratio of 800:1 is not bad. Of course not the same as the newer ones but how often do you care about the deep blacks on a small set like this. It's like LCD Tv technology 2 yrs ago. But like other LCDs it is brigther and more colourful than a tube. Power does go on standy when you power down the computer so no need to shut down the monitor separately.

As a HDTV. Bonus. Don't have it hooked up to cable/satillite but used rabbit ear antenna to grab some snowy free air stations. Got 2 digital HD channels which come in crystal clear. Very good in HD reception - sharp and clear. Can't compare to newer LCD TV (just remember how much you paid). I was impressed, for the money. i'm sure when hooked up to a steady source and used as a primary TV then it's great.

As a DVD player. Front slot loading. Ugly 2 tone base. Not sure why they wouldn't make the base black also so it wouldn't stand out. Got use to the cosmetics and once you place the remote on the base you don't notice the silver colour. The DVD loads smoothly and plays well. It read only certain Xvid movies not all that i have. Still great for that ability. Only con about the player is that if you don't eject the disc it will always load when you are switching between sources and pass by DVD.

Other: tons of inputs/outputs . Amazed given the price. HDMI/Component etc........ Digital Audio. I hooked up a pair of Altec Lansings with a subwoofer to the headphone Jack and this baby ROCKS. Like home theatre watching TV (2.1 ch). So got great sound as a TV/ DVD/ Computer.

One big negative if you use it for multipurpose is that if you shut the monitor manually at the base, you can't turn on the unit via the remote. Strange !!!! But if you power down as a computer monitor it you can turn it on via remote.

Overall, great features and value given price. Wanted another one but none left anywhere at that price. They had 60 units and they were all gone in a matter of a day. Guess i should be just happy to get my hands on one at least.
