Philips 27PT543S 27 inch TV

We've had the same console TV since we married over 20 years ago, and it's finally given out. We shopped around, checked out Consumer Reports, and finally bought one from Best Buy. I had my heart set on the Toshiba, about $20 more, but my husband was in love with the Philips sound quality and picture quality. I was so disappointed with the Toshiba picture quality in the store, (was it just in the store? The associate couldn't make it any better, we tried) I couldn't bring myself to buy it, so we came home with this one instead. We really like it in all categories except for one major problem. It squeals. I mean loudly. Very annoying. I don't know how my cats take it. I would take this TV back if it didn't weigh so much and I wasn't so afraid of dropping it. Too bad, Philips is rated quite well too...I called the Philips tech # that came with the package the night we brought it home, and after finally convincing them it was louder than it needed to be, they suggested taking it to a repair shop locally which they found in their listings. Like I want to lift that thing and take it back down the front steps 2 days after we brought it in. My old TV never squealed like that in 20 yrs. Very disappointing.
