All right, First off you need to understand that this TV has Black lines that you CAN hardly see when viewing a source that is not High quality.
Example:If you have cable or a satellite dish or just normal antenna ,Your picture will have BLACK LINES that are really hard to see (my wife noticed them!) I started noticing them after she pointed them out to me,So we called Phillips and they send a tech 2 days after the call(witch is really good), The tech (Very Nice and honest) admitted the problem and said that all the Philips 34" Digital Widescreen Television 34PW9815 are the same and that he received a lot of the same complaints And there is nothing u could do about it!
So i went to the GOODGUYS and checked it out for my self and guess what??
All the 34PW9815 that they had had black lines, the same in mine! so...

NOW here is the good part, The DVD and the HDTV signals are Pure and gorgeous.
I love watching DVDs on this thing its Clearer than a movie theater and very liquidy image, It feels as you are watching the movie through a window.

REMEMBER the lines are really hard to spot! I would say only in dark movies that are on cable. I have compared the image HDTV of course to the sony ones and to me the Phillips 34PW9815 looked better! Not to mention i got a great deal for it 2300 dollars :-).

Phillips called me back and made sure that my problem was taking care of .

I love this TV and the black lines don't bother me anymore, Because i don't look hard enough to see them!

If you are going to watch a lot of PROGRESSIVE SCAN DVDs, OR planing to get HDTV broadcast And dont mind the HARD to see black lines, ONLY and ONLY when viewing cable.
Then This TV would be for you!
