The Philips 42PFL3603D has built in HD tuning but does it really deliver?

Pros 1080P, built-in HD tuner, low power consumption
Cons 8ms response, remote has limited functionality, poor refresh rate and sports viewing
Recommended it? No

On Superbowl Sunday, I watched the big game in high definition for the first time on the Philips 42PFL3603D.  The LCD television was mounted six foot off the floor with a Wall mount unit in a small guest bedroom.  The large glossy black frame and modern looks made this television a great addition... Pros Everything
Cons That I didn't have it years ago.
Recommended it? Yes

The manufacturer is one of the best names in the business. Brilliant picture, brilliant engineering. All the best TVs that aren't SONY are Phillips/Magnavox. Period. This is an excellent example of their technology taken to the next level.

Pros Looks great and has a nice picture.  Also, the side inputs are convenient.
Cons It's DEAD after 18 months. 
Recommended it? No

I bought the Philips 42" (42PFL3603) in February 2009 at a local store and initially, it worked great.  The picture was nice and it fit well in the space I needed it for.  Luckily, when I bought the TV, I also purchased the the extended service plan.  It has been 18 months and the TV...
