Dollar for Dollar a Great buy
Pros
automatic adjustments, HD picture quality, price, sound.

The Bottom Line:
Features and quality for the money are better than expected.
I purchased this TV in April 2004 after a lot of research, and decided on it after comparing prices and features. I leaned towards this unit because my company has an employee discount with Philips, but boy am I happy I did. The TV was shipped as promised and I have had not one hiccup (knock on wood) since setting it up. The sound is great on it's own, but I put it through a Philips Surround system (employee discount again). My cable company offers a High Def cable box so I didn't need to purchase anything else to take advantage of HD channels. These HD channels look absolutely superb on this TV. Of coarse you are not going to get plasma quality from a rear projection, but dollar for dollar this is by far a better purchase. The dark scenes in movies remind me that it is rear projection, but not enough for me to justify spending another 5 or 6 grand for plasma. The auto adjustment features on this unit really take the guess work out of maximizing the picture quality. SO if you have the room for a rear projection (and it isn't as wide as most) it is a great deal from a reliable manufacturer.
