A quality CD player

Pros Great sound quality, plays CDR's and has radio.
Cons Use a different set of headphones than the ones they give you.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you are in the market for a reliable CD player with a radio and CDR capabilities, then buy this one!
In 2001, I came across this unit in the Wal-Mart Supercenter when I lived in Texas, and it caught my eye.

The price of the item back then wasn't too high (I believe around $40-$50), and the player offered features that I liked: capability of playing CDR's, 45 second playback, and it included FM & AM radio capabilities such as presets for stations. Another added bonus that this player had was free headphones were included. The main reason why I needed a new CD player is because my older Sony Discman had given out a year before, and I needed one for a long road trip. So, I purchased the CD player along with some rechargeable AA batteries (the player uses 2), as well as a carrying case for the player.

The battery life on this player seems to be longer than the Sony Discman that I previously owned. What I love about this product is that I can play my CDR CD's on it, and when I get tired of listening to that, I can just switch it to one of my favorite radio presets, also when the batteries and CD are in the player, the player does not weigh too much when compared to the previous Sony Discman that I owned. Another thing I love about the player is that when the player is combined with the use of my Sony headphones, the sound quality is excellent. Also, the player has a built in clock as well as alarm, where you can set the alarm to beep, or play a CD, which is great when you are away from home. The best feature that I can think of on the player is the Resume-Hold feature, which allows the buttons to be "locked" so if you place it in your bag and something hits the buttons, the CD player will not turn on if it is off and the Hold feature is on. The music I usually listen to varies greatly from Janet Jackson to System of a Down, and I always use the Bass Boost feature that is included with the player, I think it works quite well. The only thing I do not like about the product is that the headphones that are included with it are not to my liking, but I use them as a spare set if I cannot find my Sony ones.

After the trip, I used this CD player in my car which did not have a CD player (I purchased a car connector at Wal-Mart for $5) and it worked great on the Sony stereo in my car. The Christmas after I started using it in my car, my husband purchased a CD car stereo that was on sale, and I think that my CD player (when it was attached to the car stereo) sounded better than the CD stereo that I have in my car now!

It has been almost four years of ownership of this player, and it still works just as good as when I purchased the player.
