The one to buy!

Pros Great sound!
Cons "Beeps" when you press a button (this can be turned off)
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you're in the market for a no-frills, exceptional CD player, get this one! You won't regret it. :)
This trusty little CD player is the best one I've ever owned. I picked it up on a whim while I was on a trip; my old CD player had decided to die on me and I was bored to tears as it was already! I was looking for anything with a bass boost and a small, slim design. I'm so glad I got this player because it had those two factors and more.

Batteries
Battery life is long (unless you play it nonstop every single day or something), and you don't have to worry about the battery compartment cover slipping off. The batteries actually go under the CD in a small area. Very cool idea! Wondering if the batteries are going to die on you? A small battery meter is always on the display in the upper right corner so you can switch to an AC adapter or change your batteries.

Options
There are quite a few options in this little player. First off, the bass booster (or "Digital Dynamic Bass Booster"). There are two levels of DDBB, which also helps increase volume if, for some reason, you want it louder.
A hold switch is on the side with has three settings: OFF, RESUME, and HOLD. OFF will set it so the CD doesn't resume it's spot that you stopped it on (which is what RESUME will do). HOLD will turn off the buttons, so if you put the CD in your purse or bag and an object inside bumps a button, it won't start the CD player and waste battery life.
The Electronic Skip Protection (ESP) has never failed me. Not once have I had the CD skip or die while going over bumps! I have to admit, though, that it hasn't been over rough terrain or anything. But it hasn't ever stopped!
You can play the CD under different modes by pressing the MODE button. These include SHUFFLE, SHUFFLE & REPEAT ALL, REPEAT, REPEAT ALL, and SCAN (which will go through roughly ten seconds of each track).
There's also a programming feature, but I have never used this option so I can't comment on it.
It also claims to be CD-RW compatible, but once again I haven't played CD-RWs on it, just CD-Rs, and it does just fine.

Durability
I don't jog, do strenuous sports and I'm not constantly moving around with my CD player on. If you do then your CD player may go through a bit more wear and tear than mine. However, mine has been with me almost everywhere I go from roadtrips to fifteen minutes in the car. It seems to have stayed in top quality since day one. It's taken a fall or two (while it was off) but has not stopped playing.

Headphones
I have always been skeptical of the headphones that come with portable audio players. These were surprising as they had great sound quality. A while back I replaced them with a better pair, but I look back on them fondly. :)

Annoyances
Ah, there has to be one or two of them, right? Well my top number one is the beeping sound that is simply turned off by pressing and holding the BASS button. While it is easily dealt with, it's very aggravating to have to do this every time you start your CD if you don't want that beep sound.
Another annoyance is that if you put in a new CD and have RESUME on, it will occasionally start the CD in the middle of a random track. It's very weird but no biggie. Of course, it could also just be my CD player.

Finishing Up
Like I've said, this is the best CD player I've owned. Durable and reliable!
