The Bottom Line:
With only a 90day warranty, we learned the hard way, after having two philips dvd players that broke down in less than 1year, both out of 90days.
Sadly Philips has only 90days warranty on this product. Makes you think they have knowledge about their product breaking down close to the 90day mark. Again sadly this is also true in my case. This has been our 2nd Philips DVD player to break down in less than 1year, with no support from philips, since the warranty just barely ran out of the 90days on both occasions. Since the multiregion DVD players that truly takes dvd's from different countries are not found in normal big retail outlets, this type of dvd player would be mostly aquired via the internet (Amazon), thus making it your problem to also deal directly with Philips, whom just gladly tells you that they only give 90day warranty with no exception. With the added hassle of not being able to just run into a shop and buy a new one, make sure to order the best product from the start. One of the negative aspects of some reviews are that you write it within the 1st month of receiving the product, which is not always a true picture of the product, so in some cases it is worth reading reviews from people who has been using a product for a longer time.
