Philips HTS3300 Theater System

Two years ago we purchased a Philips HTS3544/37 Theater System. We totally enjoyed this system.  I am a musician and sound is important to me.  This has a tremendous sound for a very reasonable price.  Unfortunately it started getting temperamental on us.  Whenever we would try to put a dvd in or even just open the door to put a dvd in it would shut off.  At first we would unplug it, plug it back in and it would work.  Then one day it just shut off for no reason and we haven't been able to get it to work.  We bought this product because we watch a lot of movies and wanted a better sound then we get from just our tv speakers.  We enjoyed watching movies with this system.  You really felt like you were in a movie theater.  I would highly recommend this if they can find out why so many are have problems with it shutting off especially after playing a dvd. If you purchase it I would recommend getting the warranty.  I didn't feel the radio reception was too good probably needs a different type of antennae.  Our reception where we live isn't the best so hard to comment on that.  Sure miss the beautiful surround sound now that we don't have it.
