The Bottom Line:
Stay well away from this complete piece of junk. It is an insult that Philips would even release it. It's testiment to Philips products.
This system is a complete disgrace. It stutters while playing just about any disc. There is a constant hissing noise coming out of the speakers and CD can be heard spinning when the music is low. The wiring of the speakers is just wrong. One speaker has to plug into the other speaker, then that speaker has to be plugged into the system. So no splitting up the speakers folks. Genius!
The radio cannot receive any channels clearly. I'm not kidding. The aerial is so poor it can't hold a channel without heavy static "shhhhhhushing" noises coming from the speakers every few seconds.
The remote is a piece of you know what. Philips have decided to run it on some sort of watch battery, so come time to change it, you have the added challenge of trying to find a store that sells them. It has a ridiculous layout and works only when it's in the mood, which is not often. Even trying to set the time it a complete chore. Stay away from this piece a junk! You have been warned. It will make you very cranky you wasted your money on it.
