Why buy a Nokia when you can buy this?

Pros Voice Dial, Vibrator Alert, good reception, picture messaging and Price!
Cons Size, Unscrewable antenna small LED screen, one button keypad lock, short talk time.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  First time buyers must have, simple to use and will last quite a long time, those looking for a new phone should consider this one over a larger mobilephone manufacturer.
Well there are many reasons to buy a Nokia; brand, functionality, size, snake, and much more. However The Philips Savvy is not a bad phone, in fact it is a very good one. Considering that Philips is not a big player at the moment in the world of Mobile Phones, I think that it has done and excellent job. Firstly it is not all that expensive, I picked it up (or my Parents did for Christmas) for a mere #29.99 (approximately $45) (now it is #49.99 ($75)), which is very cheap for British standards.
What I find so attractive about this phone is its Voiedail capabilities, the endless fun! (it is great to call your best mate John by saying Mandy to the phone!) And also the Vibrator alert, is especially handy in the classroom, when you receive that all important text message telling you the latest soccer score. There are also the pictures that can be sent to other Philips phones, which are great fun, and is an innovative idea.
No faults noticed with the reception, however the battery talk time seems to decrease very rapidly! Shame really, because it would have made the phone just that little bit better.
The size is not a disaster, and neither is the weight, it is small enough to fit in your pocket, but I think the designers could have taken off a little bit more size, without pressurising the chips too much.
There are many usual handy functions, but the Alarm has to be my favourite, which is now my wake up call everyday! (I think it also wakes up the majority of the household) One function of the phone which does get on my nerves is the keypad lock system, it is not good enough, Philips should have implemented a system like the one on the Nokia's, which is a 2 button lock/unlock system, on this phone you only have to hold a button down, which can sometimes can get pressed down in the pocket for long enough.
But overall a very good phone, which should last you a couple of years, I was incredibly impressed when mine fell on hard surface from out of my pocket, and wasn't even
scratched. So I think that it is definitely worth a buy for those people in need of a good phone that works well and is not expensive.
