Cons

Recommended it?
Yes
The quality of this vcr is the best that I have seen for the money that you paid for this one. The sound and picture quality is about the best. The weight and construction that this is made of is very good. My kids have banged it up, and the dust does not get inside. The style of it is very pleasing to the eye.
When I needed a new VCR, I went to the last place that I bought one and that was at Montgomery Wards. I usually buy my stuff from Sears but, in this case I wanted to try somewhere else. The reason that I bought this one is because it was on sale for $139.00. This of course doesn't include sales tax and that illustrious extra long warranty. Unless you pay extra for it, the warranty is only for 90 days to one year. For the first ninety days all labor and parts will be fixed for free of charge.
This comes with a one piece wireless remote, which takes two aaa batteries.
This particular one has a lot of features which include:
A HQ system
A frequency synthesizer tuning with auto set feature
A on screen display in English or Spanish
A indicator panel
A Mts(multi channel television sound) system
A Hi Fi stereo sound system
A auto clock setting
A auto tracking
A one touch recording
A Unattended (timer) Recording
A vcr plus + programming
A Special effects playback: Forward and reverse searching; still;
variable slow; frame advance
A wireless remote control with Tv and cable converter box control
possibility
A repeat playback
A auto operation features
A real time counter
A daylight-saving time
A automatic head cleaner
With all of these features how could I pass up this one.The salesman was very helpful, if I had a question he almost always had an answer. It was an easy hook up. All you had to do is run a wire from the main input from the main cable to the input on the vcr. Then a cable from the out put of the vcr to the input of the tv. And presto it works you are good to go.
It basically programs itself. Anyone wanting a easy vcr to hook up, you should try this one. I have had mine for a couple of years and have not had any problems with it. On the wireless remote there is every option that you could think of for instance: vcr,tv,cable, power button, frame advance, play, rewind/search button, volume up and down. Plus channel up and down, and exit status button, number buttons. Channel 1-9 and 100 and above is a different option. There is a record and a one touch recording button. Also a mute and a go to button, plus a mute, and fast forward/search, stop, and vcr plus+enter button. A menu button, tape speed, and memory, skip search, tracking and eject button. Also a tv/vcr button. With all these options it's a wonder that you have time to have any kids.
On the vcr itself it has all the modern displays such as day and date, and time. Also hook ups for play stations and camcorders. And audio and video input and output jacks. You can set this up for daily or even weekly recording. It is very easy to do with the on screen programming.
I would recommend this to a young couple or family that can not afford a very expensive one.
