The Bottom Line:
Pioneer continues to concentrate on putting out products that have the best quality SOUND possible. This is a great value.
I have to admit that I'm not a car stereo fanatic and I can't give details about how this functions with amps etc., but I have a trained ear for quality and I am very happy with this product. With a Bose system in my home, I find that I am just as pleased with the sound in my car because of this stereo. I especially like the fact that it makes my factory speakers sound great.
It is very easy to use. When shopping I found many other units that are going back to knobs for seeking radio stations and fwding cd tracks and that is kind of annoying. The touch of a button is simple and keeps my eyes on the road.
My only real complaint about this unit is the brightness of the display at night. If you didn't know better, you would think I had the glow of a television in the front seat. But I'm getting used to it. The other thing is the size of the preset buttons for the radio are a bit too small. This past winter I had some trouble changing stations while wearing my gloves.
Overall, for the price, great sound and great functionality.
