not bad for the price, BUT...

Clean, simple and non-gaudy look; high-pass filter is key if you don't have a subwoofer

Absolutely LOUSY owner's manual!!! Also, no MP3 playback.

The Bottom Line:
Get it only if you can find it really cheap on eBay, like around $100. Otherwise try Eclipse.
If I had to do it over again, would probably pay a little extra for an Eclipse head unit, hear nothing but raves about them on different car audio forums. I chose this one because of Pioneer's reputation, the amazingly reasonable price (though I could've bought it on eBay for even less than its sale price at Circuit City), and especially because it's not loaded with tacky flashing red lights like the Kenwoods and Sonys are.
Have been reasonably happy with its performance, though when I recently added a PPI amp to it that made a HUGE difference, the Pioneer's 22watts RMS is just mediocre.
Main complaint: though this unit packs all sorts of nifty electronic features, the absolutely horrible owner's manual doesn't tell you SQUAT about why/when/how to use them...incredibly frustrating. Why on earth can't Pioneer get one decent technical writer? I'm sure they could afford it!
Also, the controls are not intuitively laid out. It took me a good 3 weeks before I could use them all smoothly. Even now there are functions that I don't fully understand. Again, horrible documentation/support.
Would've been nice if instead of having 3 separate groups of FM presents, you could just directly go through all 18 FM presets without having to hit the "Band" button to move from one group to another.
