The Bottom Line:  Don't hesitate to buy this one.
I have used CD players by almost every manufacturer and I have to say this is the best yet. Most recently I've used an Alpine, Panasonic, and Clarion. They were all good but had downsides; I've yet to find a downside to the Pioneer Premier.
After installing it in my Accord, I found it very easy to navigate most functions even without the manual. Some of the more advanced functions will take some getting used to, like setting the clock or adjusting the display brightness, but that's never too easy with any CD player. I hooked this CD player up to my factory speakers and my amp that runs two JL subwoofers.
I was immediately impressed with the sound, even before tweaking all the equalizations. But that was where the fun started. There are so many ways to tailor the sound. There are preset equalization curves which can be selected at any time, however, I prefered to use the custom setting which can be set to the user's preference. There is also a Sound Focus Equalizer. This boosts either the bass or treble (or both)for the front and rear speakers seperately. This is nice if you want more bass from your larger rear speakers than the front speakers, or vice versa.
The subwoofers sound especially impressive with this CD player. They've never sounded this good with any other CD player I've owned. There are high and low pass crossovers built in to the unit, which are nice if you are using a subwoofer. The high pass crossover allows you to cut the bass out of your speakers and let the subwoofer handle all the low bass.
The display on the Pioneer is especially nice. It lets you either have a basic but very classy look, or you can push a button and expose a second display, which has all the graphics you could ever want.
CD playback is very good. There have been no skips yet.
The stearing wheel remote included with this unit is very handy. It lets you control the basic functions while keeping both hands on the wheel.
Oh, I've been calling this a "CD player" this whole time when it is really a CD/MP3 player. The MP3 playback is very good, and it will display the artist and song title, just like on the computer.
This CD player carries a 2-year warranty, which I hope to never use, but it's nice to have anyway.
Overall, this a great CD/MP3 player. I got it at buydigitaldirect.com for $360 and it was worth every penny. For the features and performance, it is a great value.
