The Bottom Line:
If you like real and unique features that you can truly hear the difference with this unit is for you. Its wow quotient is also extremely high without being glitsy.
I love this unit so much, I've had it follow me through 3 different cars. Ok, one I totaled but was able to yank it out from. It is the only unit anywhere that uses a plugin microphone with pink noise to totally tone balance the listening environment (with 13-bands!). Classical piano violins sound crystal clear and real. The CD mode has 2 levels each of dynamic bass boost or real time compression, like in expensive DBQ machines. I leave it flat tone response, and level 1 of compression and all details and nuances of music have clarity and punch. The motorized flip down front panel for access to the tape and fm preset buttons are quite cool and totally wow those who are impressed with features more than music quality. The XM radio part is great - 100 channels CD quality throughout the US for 9.95/month. The ff/rw music search in cassette mode works well. The phase compensation for 1, 2, or 4 passengers is eerie but also a good feature. When you turn it off, you sense the sound from all 4 speakers like with most units.
When you turn it on, say to 1-passenger mode, all the sound seems to come from a focused point directly ahead of you.
