the best car stereo under a grand
Pros
By far the best car stereo for the money.
Cons
Nearly double the cost of a high end single din unit, but worth it.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
If it were not that good I would not buy a second unit. I recommend this unit without reservation.
I have had quite a few car stereos over the years, Sony (Japanese for CD skips a lot), Blaupunkt (German for Blue crap), and so on, but none have been all that great. Each had it's short comings, and none really sounded all that great compared to a good home system. Until now. The Pioneer unit does something unique it uses a microphone to listen to the car sound attributes and takes into account the amp, and speakers as well, then equalizes them out for a flat response. Add loudness to the baseline setting and you will have the best car stereo under a grand without a doubt. The unit is easy to install and is quite well built, for it is the Pioneer's flagship. The best part I saved for last the display is great, I can read it day or night in sunlight or total darkness without a problem. The motor driven flap front is also a good touch, and only now being copied by other companies. This unit is so good I am buying a second setup for my other car.
