The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this product because it has the features and usability for 90% of the consumers out there, and it sounds good, too!
I've been using this head unit for over a year, and I'm pretty impressed. The unit has a ton of features including what's listed above, as well as a 3-band equilizer, a bunch of factory EQ curves that will satisfy almost all users, automatic tape search, disc naming ability when mated to a cd changer, and a flip down/detachable face. The amp is rated at 22w RMS, and 45w peak- which is plenty to run my 2 6.5" front speakers, and 2 6x9" rear speakers at volumes that will surely cause hearing damage later in life. I think the volume goes up to 33, but the amp doesn't start distorting till about 25- and that's pretty good considering 23 is way too loud. (Normal levels are between 12 and 17, 19 is pretty damn loud, and at 21 I can't hear wind/road/engine noise at all in my 96 Civic) I hooked up an amp and sub using one of the pre-outs, and this set up is more than enough for most people.
The only drawbacks are that the face is hard to read on really sunny days because the display isn't bright enough. In order to use all the features of this unit, you have to read the instruction manual- it's not completely intuitive to use. And the volume +/- buttons are rubber, and wear over time and therefore doesn't look that great. Other than that, it's a great unit at a great price.
