Dream Player turned Nightmare
Pros
Excellent concept
Cons
Frequent jams and repairs

I wanted one of these players for a long time and finally acquired a factory refurbished machine around Christmas time of '99. I unfortunately was unpacking from a move and did not get around to setting it up until the 90 day warranty had expired. I loaded about 100 discs and set it playing. A few hours later it jammed and stopped playing. I unloaded the discs, looked around inside for obvious problems and tried to play single discs. It wouldn't play and the carousel wouldn't turn.
I took it to a shop to be repaired.
$90 later, and with a new disc transport mechanism installed, I took it home and loaded it with 300 discs. A few hours later it stopped playing. Same symptoms. This time when I opened it I discovered where the interface between the motor and the disc loading arm had disconnected. I reconnected it and continued playing. I have opened the machine and reconnected this interface every few days for three weeks since then (and laboriously extracted two jammed discs). Mind you this is playing whole albums - not using random play which would involve many more disc changes.
Overall I'm very disappointed. I am biased in favor of Pioneer products and didn't even consider the Sony 300 disc changer, but my experience with the PD-F 1007 has me looking elsewhere to fulfill my "CD Jukebox" dream.

I tried random play to see what would happen. The player jammed within an hour each time I started it.
