I actually have the PD-F506, which is the 507 without the remote. That being said, the 25 disc changer is the best investment I've made in years. The linear vertical loading is easy, and makes it easy to change out a disk, and to see which disk is where, a plus if you have kids who move discs around and you don't want to spend twice the cash for programmable title display features.
The features on this machine will keep things interesting with random play of 25 songs, programming up to 25 songs, repeat play, track time and time remaining display plus the usual CD player features. The random play will allow you to browse through tracks on the selected disc without dropping out of random play, a plus if it selects the one bad song on that disc. My favorite feature is a "best" feature that lets you select up to 25 songs on a "best" list that can be played with a push of a button.
In this machine the hardware runs along a track in the back to retrieve the disc. I worried about the possibility of moving part failure but have had mine for almost two years without a hitch. I did have a failure of a spring in the door soon after purchasing that kept the door from staying closed, thus the player could not play. I exchanged that one for a new machine and have not had a repeat occurrence.
I've never had a multi disc changer before so I can't compare the speed of changing discs, but it does seem a bit slow. There's about a 5 second lag between tracks in random play.
Overall I feel that I got a good product for a good price and if this is in your affordable price range you can't go wrong.
