The Bottom Line:
I've owned the Pioneer PD-F606 25 disk changer for 12 years without any necessary repairs, and it is compatible with just about any system and it also plays CD-R discs.
I purchased this in 1997 and it still works great. I had a problem and my discs would not load I took the screws off and removed the cover, took a Q-tip and wed it with alcohol and cleaned the laser lens. It started working again and is good as new! I love this player because it plays for hours on end. It was a great investment and holds its value.
I would purchase this changer used because it has been excellent to me over time. I have not had any problems with it other than the dirty lens, which I was able to take care of myself.
This player is great for music lovers or for people who love to entertain. Space is a consideration because it is so big, but other than that it makes a great addition to any entertainment system.
I have it connected to a Kenwood receiver and it sounds wonderful. Even with a hodge-podge system including my Sony speakers, I still have great sound.
I never bought an extended warranty on this product and it has proven not to need one. Overall I recommend the Pioneer PD-F606 25 disk changer for anyone who doesn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a disk changer that holds more than 10 compact discs.
