The Bottom Line:
This cd burner is excellent. It may be hard to find one but it's definitely worth looking for. It makes great cd's.
I've owned this cd recorder for nearly three years and I have not had any problems with it. I've burned (recorded)nearly a hundred cd's and they all came out great except for the times when I made some kind of mistake while recording.
The recorder can record from digital or analog sources so you can make copies of cd's, vinyl recordings, and tapes.
Recording from any of these sources is a breeze once you've read and followed the instruction manual. The instruction manual is is very clearly written and easy to follow.
The cd's that this machine produces are excellent. They are identical to the original that's been copied. The only downside is that you have to use blank cd's that are designed especially for music recording. This machine will not record on regular computer cd's. Blank music cd's are available at just about any place that sells computer cd's. Music cd's cost a little more but the price has dropped a lot and I have bought them for about 50 cents each. That's much less than a cassette tape and the sound of the cd is much better than tape.
This machine also allows you to use cdrw cd's that can be erased and re-recorded but many cd players won't play cdrw cd's. I've recorded some of my vinyl albums to cd and the results were good. It's a little more difficult to record albums because you have to manually insert each track number at the end of each track. When you record cd's, the track numbers can be inserted automatically. After you have finished recording the new cd must be finalized. This usually takes about four minutes and it can be done automatically or manually.
This cd recorder has been around for several years and was one of the first on the consumer market. Newer models have come out since but this one can still be found at some retailers and internet shops. It can probably be bought for a very good price now. It's a terrific piece of audio gear that I highly recommend. I really enjoy using it and it makes great cd's.
