The Bottom Line:
A must have for a video/audiophile
This is, by far, the best "toy" I have purchased for myself in a long time.
I bought my player in February of 2001, and it has made my airline travel go by much quicker by being able to watch the movies I want to watch.
It is very easy to use, and can totally replace your "home" DVD player, as it has multiple ways to connect to an existing home entertainment system. Can also lay in bed and set unit on your chest and relax and watch movie (as screen swivels in different directions). Can also get additional car unit, and place this in your sun shade in passenger seat, upside down. The screen has a button to invert the video to accomplish this.
The options for playback, sound, video, are numerous, and adjustable to the users preferences.
I HIGHLY recommend this player, as Pioneer has outdone themselves with the quality of this player. You wont be disappointed. The onboard sound has much to be desired, but get yourself some high quality headphones, and you will think you are in a movie theatre.
Do not buy retail though, as they are still selling for around $1000. You can find them on Ebay for around $600-800 Brand new.
