The Bottom Line:
If you are looking for a top of the line 768p 50" plasma, you absolutely can not beat this TV.
I purchased the Elite PRO-1150HD after reading about Pioneer's advanced Kuro plasma technology for the last year. After a side-by-side comparison of this TV against the Panasonic Viera, I came to the conclusion that this panel was far superior.
This Elite model is a step above the Pioneer PDP-5080 since the picture quality is slightly better and it offers more adjustment features. The technician that installed the panel calibrated it with an ISF calibration DVD to really get the colors as true to life as possible.
High Def cable looks stunning. We watched Pirates of the Caribbean on my Panasonic DMP-BD30 Blu-Ray the first day we got it and the movie was absolutely jaw dropping. There are many dark scenes in that movie and the Elite Plasma reproduced everything just beautifully. Never before have I seen that amount of clarity and depth with colors that really "pop" but are at the same time very realistic. The black levels on this TV are deeper than I have ever seen on any TV before (even a CRT).
The removable speakers that come with the TV are very high quality as well. I use the TV's speakers for watching SD & HD cable programming and then switch to my Yamaha 5.1 Surround Sound System when watching Blu-Ray movies or regular upscaled DVDs.
