RE:no phone numbers for POI
Pros
a life savior, making trip much more enjoyable for the family going cross country.
Cons
some of newer neighborhoods device seemed lost
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
just for everyone to invest in a gps unit; which unit you choose is up to you to research and purchase.
this is a void statement, being that i have this same device for my new durango, and i just drove cross country from california to ohio then alabama and ending in texas, and if you click on the poi, then click info the phone number will be there, sometimes i had to click a further option, if it appears after pressing info, this option showing the name again, usually if there are mulitple places under the poi, i.e. a gas station with a mcdonalds attached.
the device made the trip for my family a really relaxed trip, being that i could see in advance where any shopping districts were, or gas stations, or fast food places, etc. ive gone cross country many times due to families being all over, and after having this, i wouldnt go without a gps ever again. now there may be better gps units out there, but this was just fine.
however in some of the newer neighborhoods the device seemed a little lost when i input the street address and house number, as if it hadnt been updated b/c the newer address. also one or two of the poi's i clicked to drive to, i found out upon arrival that the place i was looking for no longer existed. however, the device still got me close enough to the address to where i could find it by looking, but of course nothing can constantly be updated every second to everything that occurs.
