Yes
The Bottom Line:
I'd buy it again
I purchased the DEH-P4600 to replace a Dodge factory radio that was dying a slow death. My purchase decision was based on 2 factors 1) it was sub $200 CAD and 2) the volume control didn't feel like is was a cheap after thought. Installation was a breeze.
I purchased the install kit and the wiring kit. The wiring kit allows you to connect your new radio to the factory harness. It also allows you to do most of the wiring at your workbench instead of under the dash. Truly worth the extra few dollars.
Playing MP3's takes a bit of getting used to, If you organize your CD into folders. The root folder of the CD is called F01 and the first folder below root is called F05 and I can't figure out why.
It does have 2 sets of pre-outs for connecting to amps and Sub's to allow for future expansion. I'm planning on getting one of Pioneer's amps to create a matched system.
Aside from that It's an excellent head unit if you're not looking for alot of bells and whistles
Pioneer's been making excellent audio equipement for a long time. It's nice to see they didn't miss the mark with they're entrance into the Auto audio market
Update:
There's cricket in my MP3 player!!
I've noticed over the last week that when you switch tracks on an MP3 CD, there's a little chirp each time you change tracks!! It's really starting to annoy me. And the AM tuner has a bit of a hummm to it. I'll have to get a choke and install it on the power lines and see it that fixes it.
