Good

Pros rotary volume, remote, mp3/wma, mosfet amp, 2 preouts
Cons no face plate protector, buttons could be bigger
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  forgot to mention it has TONS of EQ options, should read manual first, and not sure of durability yet but seems like it will last.
Well I just bought this and had it installed today. So far it seems really nice.

Background:
When I started looking for a car deck i was initially looking for a cheap cd player like the deh-1600. I saw it on sale at best buy and went to go buy it but once there after talking to a few sales clerks they all recommended getting something that could play mp3s/wma's. I wanted to buy pioneer because every car audio worker always recommended the pioneer decks when I asked them what the best overall quality and bang for the buck was. Anyways to make a long story short, I came out of the store with the DEH-4600.

The Product:
The layout is nice and simple. If your looking for a super eyecatching piece of machinery this isnt for you. If you are looking for a good quality, highpowered mp3 CD player, than this is for you. It had all the features i really wanted : rotary volume, mp3, front+rear pre outs remote and most importantly the mos-fet amp. Word has it that the mosfet amp will be able to do the best job of powering aftermarket speakers without having an external amp. The volume knob pushes into the reciever when you are not using it which is kinda neat. The only problem i see with that is the knob breaking off or some little spring breaking. The actual knob is a little wiggely but doesnt seem to be that big of a deal. the buttons are really small. Ihavent had time to see if they are too small when driving, but never the less they are smaller than most. The thing Iprobably dislike most is the circular button on the right side. Its a little too small to be used in four directions easily while driving. it would have been better to have four separte buttons instead of one big one that swivils in four directions.Enough of the bad. WHen i first turned it on it gave power to all four of my speakers. My old factory radio only gave power to the ones on the right side of the car. This in and of itself gives better sound. The deck powered teh speakers well and made them sound ALOT better than they had been sounding. If it makes 15 year old speakers sound good im pretty happy. I've cranked it up to max a couple times just real fast to see how loud it gets. And the answer is loud. I cant wait till I get the alpine type S speakers that i want. Radio reception seems pretty good for me. Alot of reviews claim poor reception, but I was told buy an expert that the super tuner III D is the best reciever on the market. He told me that alpine had tried to buy the rights off of pioneer, but wasn't able to get them.
Thi puppy also has 2 pre outs for future amps. They are only like 2 or 2.5 V though. I dont honeslty really know what the voltag is good for at this point but I guess higher Voltage is better, say 4-5 V would be really good.
To sum it all up, I am very pleased with this deck. It looks good but not rediculous with its simple but sophiticated layout, it sounds good, has plenty of power, plays mp3s, and has a nifty remote that actually comes in really handy when driving because u dont have to take your eyes off the road.
