Great options for begginers

features, display, add-ons.
Cons
Low pre-out voltage and brightly illuminated knobs
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
This deck is a great buy if you are an aspiring audiophile and need a first round deck.
This unit has alot of great features for a begginner audiophile setup. It has High pass, Low pass, slopes, preset EQ's with 2 custom settings, and alot of add-on features.
The rotary knob takes about 2 days to get used to, and after that, you are thankful that it is there. The exterior is average looking, with very few buttons on the faceplate. It has a motorized faceplate that beeps when you turn off the car and it folds out for you to take off (a safety feature). As stated before, the illumination of the buttons are not able to be dimmed, and can be bright for those sensitive to it.
The display is very clean looking for a 1-color display. It has an auto-dimming feature that senses when you turn on your headlights for night driving. They have roughly 8 backdrop options, but only 2 will allow you to see your information while driving. This display has the ability to show you main folders, song title, artist, bitrate (quality), cd name, and if your burning software has it, a description of the song that you can add.
The features on this unit are great for the price. You can separate the high pass and low pass frequencies on the speaker channels, set the slop on the subwoofer, and reverse the subwoofer or shut off the sub signal completely. The unit itself plays any format up until DVD-r media is used, including AAC files from iTunes. It is Sirius ready and has an AUX input on the front of the faceplate, that you can hook any external music device into with the right plug adaptor.
The cons to this unit is the illumination of the knobs, and the 2.2 volt pre-outs. While they work, it can produce more noise through an external amp because you have to turn the gain up further to produce full power.
All in all, unless you are sensitive to the illumination of the knobs, this is a great unit for the pricerange.
