Pros Low price, excellent recording quality in Fine and SP modes, easy to use
Cons Can only use DVD-R and DVD-RW, but not DVD+R/RW or DVD-RAM (not a big deal)
Recommended it? Yes

The prices of DVD recorders are getting lower every day and seem to have approached what you would have to pay for a good VCR when VCR was the only way to record TV shows. I remember paying $340 for my Panasonic SD11 VCR... Now, for the same amount of money, you can get a DVD recorder that will... Read full review »

I needed a DVD Recorder and in the past have used other recordable devices from Pioneer and Sony. I was suprised to see the local electronics retailer had it on sale for $249, so the purchase became a no-brainer. To date I have had only one problem and this was with the copy protection on the... Over the past few years, I have come to a conclusion that many people are still in denial about; the VHS format is dead. It's been dying a surprisingly fasy death since about 1999 when dvd players really started to become popular. It was only natural that consumers would eventually want to record in... Read full review »

Pros Excellent DVD-R/RW writing/menu creation, burned 300 DVD's with it.
Cons The VWR-1378 power board failed Sept 2008. May not be Pioneer's fault.

Unfortunately it is out of warranty, but luckily I found the complete replacement board... Read full review »
