Cons
A Little Bulky. Reception, No Selective Delete of Saved Recordings.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Highly recommend if you can keep it hooked up to an antenna, otherwise only "above average"
I have to admit. When I first shopped for a portable satellite receiver, i was hooked on this one, mostly for the feel and looks of it. I couldn't find any feature the others (and lets face it, the only other option is the Delphi) had that this one did not. So I justified my decision, based on looks. I still feel the same way about my Airwave 3 months later. I love how easy it is to navigate and learn where the buttons are and what they do. The only drawback about this unit is the reception. Sometimes I cant even get a good signal, even outdoors. The included car and home antennas work great, but I wish I could always count on reception if I'm walking down the street, or in the gym. I borrowed a friends Delphi and it was just as bad, so I guess the technology isn't there yet.
Otherwise, I love the "memo" feature and the recording capability (up to 5 hours). I just leave it recording on my favorite station for a few hours, then come back and see what songs were saved. Then I play the songs I like and skip the rest. Nice !!!
My favorite feature is the FM Modulation thing where i can listen to my Airwave on my friends car stereo through his FM, or even in my garage through my boom box (FM again).
