This stereo reciever came as a replacement for one that was older than I am, and so far I am pleased. I know Pioneer isn't one of the more popular brands all the kids are using today, but this fine company is one of the best that still operates when it comes to stereo systems and sound.

I have used my reciever at least 5 days of every week since I got it, and haven't had a problem yet. I love having the presets and remote power, but digital tuning often has it's problems. Like a slide trombone compared to a valve, the valve is hard to tune, but the slide is the only wind instrument able to play every pitch in perfect tune. This is a general problem, as with all digital tuners, but Pioneer makes it easier, taking steps by .1 MHZ, instead of the customary .2

Often, when first starting up the system, it takes anywhere from 2 seconds to a full minute for FM radio to come through. The system takes as long or longer than most other major brands to warm up, but this is just a factor to get used to.

And, like any all purpose tuner, I easily connected my phonograph and cassette players, both of which are obsolete by today's standards. My old stereo headphones also work in this system, and I'm so far loving this blend of old and new. I reccomend it to anyone who doesn't want to overspend for equal quality.
