Pioneer VSX-04 Receiver

I got this amp from my boss when we upgraded him to a 7.1 dts system, this pioneer had issues in I got this amp from my boss when we upgraded him to a 7.1 dts system, this pioneer had issues in surround mode with noise and distortion on the rear channels... But, when in stereo mode it sounds wonderful, from what I have gathered in a rather informal search of the web this amp is notorious for having both features...one owner commenting that he was keeping it just to listen to music on... as I have. If you can get you hands on one, do so. It has a direct mode that I believe bypasses all tone and balance controls for a more direct connection to the amp
