vsx55tx and what it means to me
Pros
everything. i havent found realy anything serious that i dont like.
Cons
large and especialy very deep.cant close the cabinete doors
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
get one,but DO NOT skimp on the speakers like i did(polk system with 250wt sub)..i like that it can be hooked up to the pc
i got this beast more than 1 year ago. i was not a pioneer fan,,but it had what i wanted, and the few reviews out at the time all had very good things to say.so i got one. my old kenwood broke....come to find out,the speaker wire was shorting out,so i didnt have a broken kenwood.thats ok,when i get the workshop done, ill use it out there.
ahmm.....hmmmmm....i have a small polk speaker system.with the upgraded subwoofer(250 wats)..well i think either the reciever hasent enough power,or the speakers arent sensitive enough. when im alone,(the wife hates loud mopvies)i can watch a movie with it all the way up,course i only do that for a short time, for non stop playing,i just go to -10,the lower the number, the louder it is,it starts about 45 or somthing.-20 is fine for regular tv watching.anyways......oh yeah, the thing is very big,the doors dont cloce on my entertainment center.and i dont have room for a larger one to hold it enclosed.(damn dusting all the time)
the remote is as good as ive ever seen, much much better than anything ive ever owned. the microphone pick up works very well to adjust the suround speakers.just plug it in,run the test, and then its all ballanced and done.watching movies is fine, but again,im thinking its my speakers.thers somthing missingive read about the larger polks, but rite now i just cant do that,so i listen at lower levels. if you could get one of these, get it,i cant think of anything it dosent do,or does poorly.well thats it,i paid about 1300$ or so a year or a year and a half ago.im glad,id do it again(not the speakers though) not that the polks are bad, they arent, but for my living room and the way i,once in a while like it loud, the polks just dont let the big rig open up properly.
no regrets
