Want a good DTS and DD receiver for little money?

Well worth the learning curve. The time spent learning the features pays off big.
I purchased this model after looking at several. The signal to noise ratio is excellent on this receiver. You will not find a bunch of static coming through your speakers with this one, unlike several higher or equally priced models. The unit is fairly light compared to my RCA receiver, and it appears to be well built and solid.
The Basic setup can be confusing, but once you have had time to play around with the controls and READ the manual (a must) you will be happy with it. This is one of the purist signals at 100 watts per channel that I have heard. I don't think you will find a better sounding unit for the money. Most people, myself included, want high quality sound and would be willing to sacrifice a little time in the setup process. Once you have this baby configured to your sound preferences, you will be very pleased with your purchase. I have to say that it actually took me quite a while to figure out some of the more advanced capabilities of the unit, but once you "get it" it all makes sense.
It seems like Pioneer could have done a much better job on the remote layout. I hate having so many controls connected to the same buttons. DTS is wonderful. If you haven't heard it yet, and you watch a lot of DVD movies. You should give it a try. I have recently made the switch form Dolby Digital and I cannot look back. The sound is very open, detailed and clear.
