I highly recommend this receiver to the average user who wants a solid, dependable stereo system, without spending too much.
This receiver is great for the average listener looking for superior quality without the expense. The remote is great, easy to use in both light and dark, and easy to program with its learning capabilities. The sound is excellent, even with smaller speakers. The 100 watts/channel is plenty for the average user all with a great frequency response. The Dolby Digital decoding sounds fantastic, even without DTS. It also has convenient gold-plated front inputs. I've owned this receiver for about three years, and have not had ANY problems whatsoever (unlike my Pioneer DVD player which I needed repaired three times). Some of the drawbacks would be no DTS decoding, no video inputs besides composite, and a lack of optical inputs(the one optical input is not assignable to the CD input). Besides that, this receiver has more than exceeded my expectations.
