Yes
The Bottom Line:
Highly recommended
I recently bought a Planar 17.4 inch flat LCD panel monitor from Dell. We love it so much and I would recommend it to all my friends. Not only I enjoy the general advantages of all LCD monitors--flat, comfortable, light, energy saving, etc.,--but also I find that the Planar LCD is actually brighter and sharper than our old Panasonic CRT monitor. The Planar has even overcome the common problem of viewing angle of LCD. The viewing angle is very wide, and there is no noticeable difference as I move my viewing positions from one corner to the other corner of my desk (it is said that the viewing angle is a total of 160 degree).
I compare the picture quality with the Samsung 17 inch LCD monitor displayed in the local BestBuy store, the Planar was actually noticeably better than the Samsung in terms its brightness and sharpness. It also has built-in speakers. The price is cheap than the Samsung (offered by Dell for only $599, and you may get another 20% sometimes).
The only drawback I noticed is that the headset plug outlet is placed at the back, which is difficult to reach and inconvenient to plug in.
