Huge screen size, beautiful bright colors, gorgeous sharp images, fits on a desk!

Autoset works but needs fine tuning to scale down display for perfect 1024x768

The Bottom Line:
BUY IT, BUT BE CAREFUL- 2 versions of this monitor are shipping. NEWER version is DIGITAL AND ANALOG with 400:1 Contrast Ratio LCD. Older version ANALOG only with 250:1 LCD!
This monitor is simply the BEST 17.4" LCD Flat Screen Monitor value on the market today- bar none! I paid $799 through Dell online and got FREE 2day FedEx and NO tax! Available in White, Black and 3 See Through Colors- Clear, Ruby and Sapphire Blue.
BE CAREFUL because there are 2 versions of this monitor they are shipping depending on color choice. BOTH versions have 17.4" screen, 4 port USB Hub, built-in speakers and feature Analog hook-up.
The NEWER version comes with both DIGITAL AND ANALOG hook-up along with a higher 400:1 Contrast Ratio LCD vs. 250 on the older version (250 is still pretty damn sharp but I want the screen with the BIGGER number). It seems with the popular cabinets colors, like Black or White, there may be no more of the older version and Planar is shipping the NEW upgraded version. The other 3 colors I'm not so sure about.
BOTTOM LINE- SPECIFY THAT YOU ONLY WANT THE DIGITAL/ANALOG VERSION and you'll get the the upgraded version with the newer 400:1 Contrast Ratio LCD!
Planar VERY delicately sidesteps the issue when asked about the LCD specs of the new version claiming "250:1 Contrast Ratio" (technically it's NOT false advertising if the real spec is 400). But when you check CDW's web site (Planar's newest reseller) and others that sell Planar monitors, they list the specs of the 17.4" as DIGITAL/ANALOG (indicating they only carry the newer version) and also show a Contrast Ratio Spec for the LCD Screen as 400:1. It's listed that way on CDW and other web sites so it's more than a coincidence; it had to be in the model specs Planar gave them for advertisinge when they signed on the line.
Anyway, I got MY DIGITAL/ANALOG version and I couldn't be any HAPPIER. BUY ONE!
