The Bottom Line:  Buy these!!! You won't ever regret it!!!
Sure, Monsoon's been out of business a while now... But figured I'd write a review anyway, since these are great deal on the used / B-stock market right now.

Bought a set of PM-9s on e-Bay. Before they even arrived, I saw a set of PM-14s for sale, which I couldn't find before purchasing the PM-9s, so I bought those as well.

The going rate for PM-9s right now seems to be a little over $50.00. At that price, you will not find a better sounding set of desktop speakers period. Crisp highs, no irregularities due to tweeter/mid crossover because there isn't one. The sub blends almost seamlessly with the flat panels. Bass is tight and more extended than you would expect from a 6 1/2" sub. This system puts out a pretty respectable volume level. Would have to spend about $100.00 to get something louder and the overall sound quality may not be as good. Also like the look of the flat panels on my desktop.

The PM 14s on the other hand were a big disappointment. Sub does put out lower bass, but doesn't even come close to blending with the flat panels. Was unable to make the PM-14s sound as good as the PM-9s with a 10-band EQ. The few extra watts you get with the PM-14s are wasted anyway, if you have to boost the lower-mid / upper-bass frequencies. And the PM-14s are going for close to $100.00. For $100.00 you can do better. Even think the PM-9s look better with the black/silver panels vs. the plain black ones on the PM-14s.

PM-9 = powerful, accurate, sweet, musical, bargain price

PM-14 = Gaping hole in frequency response, hollow boomy sound, bad imaging, pay more and get less.
