Durabrand CD-85 Personal CD Player...Helping Me to Ride Like the Wind!!

Pros *Very inexpensive
*Small & Compact
*Works well
Cons *For the price...no cons...not state of the art sounds, of course
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line: I found this personal CD player is great when I'm riding my bike...or just want to really hear a song without any outside noises.
I know that I'm terribly behind the times. I don't have an iPod or MP3 player, but there are times that I do want to listen to music while not disturbing others...or while I'm riding my recumbent bike. When those times hit I am very happy using my Durabrand Programmable Compact Disc Player and listening through the headphones, really absorbing the music and being able to block out the rest of the world too.

This is a small round CD player that can only be listened to through the headphones that come with it. Since this is a rather inexpensive player I'm sure these aren't state of the art headphones and yet they do seem to block out most of the surrounding noise in a room, but not completely. They are adjustable so that if your head is a little bigger or smaller than average they can be adapted to fit. They are lightweight enough not to give me a headache or to feel as if my head is in a vice.

My player is a silver and red and is just 5 1/2" x 6" x 1" thick almost round disk that holds one cd at a time. It requires two AA batteries that are put in at the bottom of this player. The batteries last for about 3 to 5 hours of play time, which isn't too bad but if you use this player very much you'll need to invest in a large package of batteries or rechargeables.

On the top of this player are the buttons that you'll need in order to play your cd. On the far right is the open button, which of course opens the lid so that you can insert the cd. I do like that you have to sort of push the cd down so that it is locked in place, this way if you move the player it doesn't skip as easily. While I have carried this player around with me it is best to keep it rather flat. It plays okay, but is better if left on flat surface than moving it around.

There is also a Skip button, a Repeat button, the Play/Pause button, Program, Volume and a Stop button too.

I like that with the skip button you can skip forward or backwards, making it quick to get to a particular song that you may want.

The volume on this player always starts at the default volume of 20. You then just click the plus or minus to turn up or down.

You can program which songs you want and in what order, but of course since it is only one cd in it at a time, I haven't really done this. If I don't want to hear a particular song then I just skip it…but often I am amazed when I don't like a song at first but by hearing several times when using this disc player I discover I start liking the song, so I don't often skip either.

This is a nice small compact easy to use disc player that I would recommend to anyone who wants to listen to music alone and not bother others while doing so.

It is very easy to use and even I didn't need to read the directions to be able to use it….so how hard can it be?

It was inexpensive at only $9.97 and has really come in handy for me. As I said, it is not state of the art, but it is a nice little player.
